Founder President of AASHIS Foundation, Mr. Ananda Mitra (a.k.a Rudra), 2018, built this foundation as
a homage to his father, late Shri Ashis Mitra who passed away fighting cancer. His aim is to serve the
underprivileged children and cancer stricken people.
Before laying down this foundation, he previously worked with Shanti Avedna Sadan by providing
counselling to families in grief and providing basic necessities like food, medicines and clothes to the
families from his own. He also provided education to children after college hours near his residency.
The mission is to challenge the existing social deprivation that has encroached the young mind of
children belonging from under-developed community that faces myriad of poverty. It also aims in
building a ‘free-environment’ that helps to shape the mind of young children by providing a space to
learn and educate that would be beneficial in future.
